Principal

Joseph Tasca is an accomplished structural engineer at John A. Martin and Associates, bringing specialized expertise in structural system assessment and evaluation to our practice. A graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering, Joseph combines strong technical foundation with practical field experience to deliver comprehensive structural solutions. 

His expertise spans commercial, residential and institutional sectors, with strength in complex structural evaluations and remediation projects. Joseph’s exceptional communication skills and commitment to responsiveness make him an invaluable liaison between design teams, construction crews, and clients. 

Based in Santa Barbara, Joseph has established long-standing, local relationships, strengthened by providing rapid response times for on-site meetings, structural observations, and field assessments. This regional presence enables our firm to deliver efficient project progress and immediate support for time-sensitive structural inquiries throughout the area. 

Joseph maintains active membership in the Structural Engineers Association of California (SEAOC) and the International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO), reflecting his dedication to advancing industry standards and staying current with evolving structural engineering practices. 

When he’s not in the office, Joseph enjoys spending time outdoors playing tennis or going for a hike. In his free time, he also loves to travel and experiment in the kitchen with new recipes.
