Associate Principal

Associate Principal Hossain Ghaffari brings over 40 years of structural design and construction administration experience, developing extensive expertise across a wide range of project types, with particular specialty in sports and recreation, healthcare, and education. His portfolio includes landmark projects such as Desert Diamond Arena, UCSB Davidson Library, and Kaiser Anaheim Hospital.

In addition to his technical expertise, Hossain is deeply committed to mentorship and education. His passion for teaching began as an Assistant Professor at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, and has continued through more than three decades lecturing at engineering institutions including locally at CSU Northridge and Cal Poly Pomona. He brings this same enthusiasm to John A. Martin & Associates, where he plays an integral role in developing the firm’s next generation of engineers, fostering both technical excellence and the interpersonal skills essential for successful project management. 

Outside the office, Hossain can be found in the great outdoors, connecting with nature through hiking, camping, or swimming.
