Tall Buildings
Structural design of tall buildings is as much an art as it is an analytical experience. The team of John A. Martin & Associates is intimately familiar with both the analytical requirements and the structural artistry that is required to produce an efficient, cost effective, and safe design of tall buildings. Our staff includes graduates with doctoral degrees as well as many other licensed structural engineers who have design, detailed, and seen projects through the construction phase of the work. Our staff is kept on the cutting edge of tall building design by four of our most senior structural engineers in our office who are members of the esteemed Los Angeles Tall Building Structural Design Council which provides guidance to various building departments and presents proposed code revisions for the efficient design of tall buildings. Some members of our team are also teaching in local universities, and others are writing books on the design of tall buildings. Unseen to most is the artistry required on the part of structural design to meet architectural designs while still satisfying building code requirements. Our familiarity with this side of structural engineering sets us above the rest.
