We’re proud to share that The Commons Expansion at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County has been recognized with an ENR Regional Best Projects Award in the Cultural/Worship category!

This project creates a new transparent “front porch” connecting the Museum to Exposition Park and the Memorial Coliseum. The design features nearly 50,000 SF of renovated galleries and 30,000 SF of new glass-enclosed space, including a 400-seat theater, 23-ft floor-to-floor heights, and 70-ft column-free spans supported by steel moment frames with viscous dampers for seismic resilience.

This project reflects our ongoing commitment to advancing cultural and educational spaces through innovative structural engineering.

Special thanks to our project partners, including Frederick Fisher and Partners Architects and MATT Construction for bringing home this award!
