We’re thrilled to announce that John A. Martin & Associates took home two crystals at the Structural Engineers Association of Southern California (SEAOSC) Structural Engineering Excellence Awards! Two of our recent projects were recognized, one with an Award of Merit and the other with an Award of Excellence. Both awards highlight the innovative design, technical expertise, and strong collaboration that define our work.

JAMA received an Award of Excellence for the UCLA Hammer Museum Expansion. Working alongside Michael Maltzan Architecture, Inc. and MATT Construction, we helped transform the museum with a new main entry lobby, gallery spaces, and interconnecting stairs. Our structural solutions included an elegant seismic retrofit that boosted resilience without compromising the design vision.

We also earned an Award of Merit for the LAX Terminal Cores and APM Interface project. Partnering with AC Martin and Austin Commercial, we worked closely with Los Angeles World Airports to deliver a six-story vertical circulation core. This structure links the new Automated People Mover (APM) to the Tom Bradley International Terminal. The real challenge? We did it all while keeping 24/7 airport operations running smoothly.

These award-winning projects show our team’s commitment to creative, high-performance structural solutions. We’re incredibly proud of our team and grateful to our project partners. Thank you to SEAOSC for this recognition, and congratulations to all the other winners!
