Riverside Convention Center Expansion & Renovation
Construction Cost: $28M
Completed in 2013 and officially opened in March 2014, the Riverside Convention Center project included both renovation and expansion components. The existing 126,900 square foot facility built in 1972 was renovated and seismically retrofitted and strengthened/modified to support 65,000 square feet of meeting rooms that can be arranged as a singular space or up to 21 subdivided spaces. The expansion portion of the project added 22,000 square feet to the facility’s total footprint including construction of a large exterior plaza. The project was completed via Design-Build delivery utilizing a fully coordinated BIM model.
