Damage to Theater at Brawley, 1979 Imperial Valley Earthquake

Earthquake of October 15, 1979, Imperial Valley, California. The unreinforced brick wall at the Brawley Theater collapsed. Most of the building damage in the business district of Brawley occurred between the 500 and 900 blocks. Unreinforced brick structures are particularly vulnerable to earth shaking.
