PRINCE WILLIAM SOUND EARTHQUAKE, MARCH 28, 1964
Uplifted dock, Prince William Sound, Alaska
[UPLIFT AND SUBSIDENCE] The uplifted dock on Hinchinbrook Island, Prince William Sound, shows uplift. Land in this area rose about 8 feet (2.4 m) during the earthquake, and the dock could then be used only at extremely high tides. Tsunami damage also occurred in this area.
